Visión General

Eight hundred years ago, the poet and mystic Rumi wrote about love, devotion, and the search for the divine in ways that still resonate across cultures and centuries. The Sema ceremony, the ritual whirling of the dervishes, is the physical expression of that search. It is not a performance. It is a spiritual practice, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Hodjapasha is one of the finest places in the world to witness it. A 15th century Ottoman hammam in the heart of Istanbul, carefully restored and dedicated to keeping this tradition alive. The setting alone, vaulted stone ceilings, soft light, centuries of history in every surface, prepares you for what you are about to see.

The ceremony itself is unlike anything most travelers have encountered. The white-robed dervishes begin to turn, slowly at first, then with a stillness and precision that becomes almost hypnotic. By the end, the room is quiet in a way that is hard to explain.

We arrange your tickets and ensure the best available seating. An evening that stays with you long after the ceremony ends.
