Ephesus Tours
Ephesus
Pergamon or Pergamum was once a very important ancient Greek city with a population of around 70,000, rendering the ancient city as huge as the ancient city of Ephesus. Pergamon existed at least from the 5th century BC, but it became significant after the 3rd century BC when the Attalid Dynasty ruled it.
We'll pick you up at 9:00 a.m. from your hotel in Selcuk or Kusadasi and drive about 2 hours to Pergamon City. The Acropolis is situated on the top of a hill and is reached by a cable car.
Places to visit
We are also going to visit Asclepion Health Centre. Asclepion, founded in the name of Aesculapius, the god of health and medicine, is thought to have existed since the 4th century BC. At the Asclepion Health Centre, the patients' visions were studied by their physicians (priests) about 2000 years before Sigmund Freud and the ancient city became very important.
